The LP idea
Swimming pools are places where many playful and athletic activities are practiced, at a competitive or amateur level. The professionals who work there have sports-based knowledge, with elements of anatomy and physiology. This aspect does not take into account the person in its entirety, whereas there are people who are growing, aging people, more generally humans-to-become, it is desirable that there are skills at least partially centered on the relationship and internal processes.
The LP project originates from the need to provide instructors and trainers with concepts of psychology, ageing and communication.
The benefits to the establishment are due to the fact that the tools provided to the staff confer professionalism. In practical terms, the salient training objective is to put the coaches in the condition of reading the feedback of their own “modus operandi” correctly. This increases the effectiveness of the athlete’s sports performance, it increases self-perceived wellness and the quality of experience in the pool, but also enhances those skills that can be important in both sport and sociality. These results are a direct consequence of monitoring and self-correcting of one’s own work.
